This scoping review catalogs 90 studies touting eye-tracking as an objective marker, but few move beyond feasibility, and almost none manage validation or diagnostic rigor outside small, tightly controlled samples. Most proposed implementations face a hard reality check when asked to perform on kitchen counter webcams rather than in lab settings.
